In 2001, Ideal Ice Cream entered retail distribution, making its products accessible to consumers beyond its original market. Since then, the brand has steadily extended its presence across Karnataka, Kerala, and Goa, with a distribution footprint covering over 4,500 retail outlets.

Late Mr. S. Prabhakar Kamath

Founder – Ideal Ice Cream

A visionary entrepreneur with a strong belief in quality and integrity, the late Mr. S. Prabhakar Kamath laid the foundation for Ideal Ice Cream in 1975. His journey was defined by resilience, curiosity, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Starting with limited resources but boundless determination, he transformed a small ice cream parlour into a brand that would go on to define quality benchmarks in the industry. His values continue to shape Ideal Ice Cream’s identity and direction today.

Mr. S. Mukund Kamath

Chairman & Managing Director
Mr. S. Mukund Kamath leads Ideal Icecream Private Limited with a clear focus on innovation-led growth. A graduate in Science from Mangaluru University, he has undergone advanced training at the Central Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, and the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Bengaluru.
His association with the business began early, giving him deep insight into operations across production, finance, and customer experience. Since formally joining the organization in 1995, he has played a pivotal role in expanding manufacturing capabilities and strengthening the brand’s retail presence.
As CMD and Head of Research & Development, he personally oversees product innovation. Several beloved offerings — including Tiramisu, Marzi Paan, i Pizza, and i Thaali — reflect his craftsmanship and dedication to perfection.
Mukund

Manufacturing Excellence

To scale responsibly and efficiently, Ideal Icecream Private Limited established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kinnigoli in 2019.Every product is designed with care, refined through research, and delivered with consistency ensuring that the Ideal name stands for reliability and excellence.

Spread across 1 lakh sq. ft., the facility is equipped with advanced machinery and adheres to stringent hygiene and quality standards. It supports the production of over 150 SKUs while creating significant employment opportunities and contributing to local industry development.

Ideal Icecream Private Limited is committed to responsible manufacturing and environmental stewardship. Key initiatives include:

  • A 675 KVA rooftop solar power plant, with plans to expand beyond 1 MVA
  • Rainwater harvesting systems that support groundwater recharge
  • An artificial pond designed for sustainable stormwater management
  • Practices focused on energy efficiency and resource optimization

These efforts highlight the brand’s long-term commitment to sustainability and community well-being.
